I finally decided to pick up a shift at Warby Parker in the Design District. The moment I walked in, I knew it was going to be a rough day, because I instantly had a crush on the employee with dark black hair and the craziest curls. I made it a point to walk right up to him, grab his hand, and give him a firm handshake so he’d know exactly who I was. Once our shift started, we talked a little more, but nothing obvious, I had to keep it professional, of course. Still, I went home that night disappointed because I never got his number. The very next day, I reached out to his boss, who also happens to be a very good friend of mine, and told her I needed his name and Instagram immediately. After I blurted it out, she laughed and said, “Oh boy, here we go, I knew he would be your type.” One follow back later, and the rest was history.
