Travel & Accommodation

The Wedding Website of Angela Stoicova and Haris Jasarevic
The easiest way to get to Sarajevo is by plane. Whether you fly directly to Sarajevo or choose the cheaper option via Tuzla or Banja Luka—with a rental car—it doesn’t make a huge difference. For those who want to explore the Balkans by car, driving there is also an option. We personally prefer flying into Tuzla and renting a car. If you fly directly to Sarajevo, taxis are readily available everywhere, and the entire city is very well connected by tram. Either way, it definitely won’t be a problem! We’ve suggested a few accommodations close to where the wedding will take place. However, it’s best if you also check online for places you like. Airbnb now offers many options as well! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us. We’re happy to help!

Flight

Sarajevo Airport

The fastest and easiest way to get there is via Sarajevo Airport. The airport is located about a 20-minute drive from the city center. However, this is also the most expensive option. You should expect to pay at least 300 CHF per person for a round-trip flight. Direct flights are not always available.

Flight

Tuzla Airport

Flights via Tuzla Airport are significantly cheaper and are usually direct. Wizz Air operates these flights, departing from Basel. Round-trip tickets are available starting at around 100 CHF. However, a rental car is necessary, as the drive from Tuzla to Sarajevo takes about two hours. Overall, this option is likely the more affordable alternative compared to flying into Sarajevo.

Flight

Banja Luka Airport

Here, too, flights are cheaper. Prices are similar to those at Tuzla Airport. Renting a vehicle is also necessary, as the drive to Sarajevo takes about two hours.

Rental Car

Various car rental companies

When booking flights, it is advisable to book a rental car directly through the airline if you need one. This is especially easy with Wizz Air, which allows you to book your flight and a rental car together. Wizz Air flies to Tuzla and Banja Luka airports. Rental prices start at just 20 euros per day.

Travel Note

Getting there by car

Especially for stays of a week or longer, traveling by car might be a good option. The driving time from Switzerland is approximately 10 to 12 hours, plus breaks. During this time, you shouldn’t encounter significant traffic jams.
