Angela and Gabriel met in October 2024 at the University of Mary Washington's Catholic Campus Ministry. They met on a Sunday on the day of the Eucharistic procession and began dating by the beginning of December.

Gabriel proposed at the Rappahannock River. He told Angela that he wanted to go fishing because the shad were running. They brought all the fishing poles and supplies down to the river. While Angela was looking out at the river, he got down on one knee. When she turned around, he asked her to marry him. She said yes (of course)! They didn't catch any shad.
