We swiped right on each other on Bumble (sponsor us, please). Andrew had been on Bumble for about three days before he came across me. I, on the other hand, had been on way too long before finally swiping right on Thursday, November 19, 2020. I remember the date because it was the day before my birthday. We started chatting on my actual birthday—and Andrew was already confused because my age had changed overnight. We messaged most of the day and made plans to meet on Sunday, November 22nd. It was mid-pandemic, so he had to make reservations for us at Jetty to see Ricky Roche perform. When I arrived at his place, I texted him to come out so we could walk over together. He came running out with wax all over his face—apparently he had just blown out a candle and it splashed everywhere. He asked for a minute to clean up, and honestly, I already knew I liked him... because that is totally something I would do. Our date lasted eight hours! We couldn’t stop talking or laughing. We made plans the very next night for dinner—Andrew cooked chicken and quinoa (yes, really). Then we saw each other again the following night, and again that weekend. By the end of that first week, we had spent 4 out of 7 days together. Then, on December 6, 2020—just two weeks after we met—after a cozy night in with steaks and red wine, he asked me to be his girlfriend. And almost four years later… he asked me to be his forever.
