Taxi

Airport taxis are privatized and are the only options allowed to leave airport with passengers. Thus, there are not any Uber, Lyft or Ride-share options leaving from the airport. You can take a taxi from the airport around US $100-$150. As you exit airport, you’ll be approached by MANY taxi options. Tip: Many of the hotels in Tulum offer a pick-up service from the airport for an additional US$80-120 depending on the hotel. Ask when booking your hotel. To get back to the airport, you'll be able to book an Uber or Lyft and will be dropped off appropriately. You might be able to use your hotel's car service again.

www.valrental.com Contact: Sergio 664-129-4086 This car rental company is physically located 10 minutes outside airport so you need to reserve ahead of time, text or call upon arrival at CUN and then you’ll wait about 15-30 min for shuttle to arrive to then take you to car rental. They will also shuttle you back to airport when you return the car. Tip: Check with your credit card company to see if they automatically insure you, most do so you don't have to pay the additional insurance that the rental agency often tries to insist you purchase. If you check prices on internet, make sure to confirm that the price you are seeing if the final, as some companies apply surcharges at the very last minute when you are already signing the contract. Leave room for time. This option gives you much freedom to travel around on your own time but can take a little extra time to pick up/drop off car.
