It was two days before halloween when Angela and Erik met at The Dubliner in Hoboken. Erik was standing outside, a few feet from Ang and her friends when she noticed the tallest guy in the group in a baby onesie and made a comment saying that it was funny to Jess. Five minutes later, while Ang and Jess were ordering a drink at the bar, Erik came in between the two of them and started talking to her! She laughed and mentioned that they were just talking about him outside, made a few snarky comments and then found out that it was his birthday on halloween. Being a sucker for birthdays, she orders a round of shots for her friends and this stranger.. (apparently that's when he "knew" she was the one) (she doesn't believe that). A few minutes later Angela's friends tell her that they're heading upstairs, but she insisted she stay downstairs to talk to Erik. Long story boring, Erik texted Ang two days later for the first time (on his birthday) so she HAD to respond (again, sucker for birthdays) and the rest is history! Erik and Angela have had an amazing 4 year journey so far.. they can't wait to start their next chapter as husband and wife with the most important people in their lives on their wedding day!
On October 25th 2020, Angela and Erik had plans to go to a sunflower field (or so she thought). Erik had said he bought the tickets a few days prior, and they both hoped it just wouldn't rain that day so they could go. Well, it ended up raining, and Angela almost planted her butt on the couch for the day before Erik said "go get ready anyway, I'll think of something to do." She didn't suspect anything, because it seemed like they were just going to wing it! They got in the car and started driving, Ang still having no idea where they were going. An hour later they pulled up to the Warren County Balloon Festival- Ang had always said that she loved hot air balloons and riding one was on her bucket list! She figured they would just be watching the balloons go up since it was such a last minute plan.. little did she know Erik had it planned for weeks! They got into the giant tuxedo balloon, and about 15 minutes into the ride Erik pointed at the ground and said "Ang, what is that down there?!" On the ground was a giant banner that wrote "Will You Marry Me?" and when she turned around he was on one knee! Safe to say that after his sweet speech she didn't hesitate to say yes!
