Corissa and Robert met on Valentine's Day 2015 during a small get together. The minute that Corissa walked into the door, Robert looked over at her with a BIG smile. Corissa was wearing a Fight Club t-shirt, which just so happens to be one of Robert's favorite books. They connected right away, but nothing stood out as much as the moments they kept choosing each other's cards during a game of Cards Against Humanity. Robert and Corissa hit it off and continued talking for the rest of the night. After sharing a late-night meal together, they swapped phone numbers, and the fairytale has continued ever since...

In August of 2019, Corissa and Robert were traveling and were on the last leg of the trip, driving from Michigan to Chicago. The plan was to visit the Chicago Bean (formally known as Cloudgate), get some pizza, and head to the airport for a flight home...or so Corissa thought. For those who don't know, Corissa and Robert have a cat named Bean, and they decided to bring a picture of their cat so that "Bean" could visit the Bean. What Corissa didn't know was, Robert had photo-shopped the picture of Bean with a word bubble that said, "Please say 'Yes,' Mom!". Robert handed Corissa the photo so they could pose for a picture, and as Corissa looked down at the photo, Robert got down on one knee. When she looked away from the photo and noticed him, time slowed for a bit, and he asked her to marry him. Thankfully she said "Yes!" just as Bean wanted. They did end up still getting pizza....
