On July 22, 2026, we are planning to trek 14-kilometres round-trip to one of our favourite scenic lookouts in Banff National Park: Healy Pass. While the area is best known for its breathtaking alpine meadows in summer, we fell in love with it in the fall, when the golden larch trees turn a vibrant yellow across the mountainside. We’ll be documenting and capturing every moment of this special day to "premiere" our elopement film with you at our receptions in Mississauga in August and Vankleek Hill in September. We’re so grateful you’ll be joining us to celebrate our love ♥
In spring 2023, I was looking for a new opportunity when I came across an opening at a local bicycle shop in Calgary. Feeling confident I was a great fit, I applied and within a week, I was on the payroll. At the time, I was living with my sister, Alix, but ready to find a place of my own. A coworker mentioned that someone named Jesse was supposedly looking for a roommate, so I confidently marched up to him in the break room, introduced myself, and said, “Hi, I’m Anett. It's my first day and I hear you’re looking for a roommate.” Sadly, he wasn't looking to move out at the same time. Fortunately, what started as an awkward introduction slowly turned into a wonderful friendship. By the end of that summer, we realized just how much our values, interests, and passions aligned ♥ Though I still like to joke that we did eventually become roommates. ;-)
At the time, I was tired of online dating and removed myself from all apps and told myself "I'm not going to look for a relationship right now". I had been working at the bike shop for a couple years already and Anett definitely made a strong first impression that day. She brought a lot of energy to work and was very easy to talk to. One evening she was going for a trail run in Canmore with her sister, Alix and another friend and invited me to tag along. Fighting through the knee pain that evening during the run was absolutely worth it!! As we spent more time together, our friendship grew and we bonded over big life conversations, reading, running, and being in the mountains. She truly has become my best friend and I can't express how excited I am to become her husband and continue running down this path together.
