How We Met

It all started with a shower costume...

Andy and Megan met at University of Delaware while attending graduate school for physical therapy. Andy was previously in the class ahead of Megan, but due to an unfortunate concussion, joined Megan's class during her first fall semester. Megan's first impression of Andy was, "Who is that guy with bed head who is suddenly apart of our PT class?" However, one Halloween night, in 2014, Andy and Megan danced the night away together at Klondike Kate's. Megan was dressed as a flapper girl, and Andy was dressed as a shower. Yes, a shower. Andy attempted a kiss at the end of the night, only to be met by Megan's signature, "Pound it, lock it, put it in your pocket" handshake. Ouch. But Andy persisted, and asked Megan to a volleyball game. She realized it was a date when he bought her a cookie. Turns out, if you buy a Megan a cookie, she will fall in love quite easily. Andy and Megan began dating officially on 1/23/15. Together they were each other's support systems throughout graduate school. They learned that time together was easier than time apart, even if it was time spent studying late through the night.

The Proposal

4/14/19

Andy planned a trip to hike Old Rag Mountain together. The forecast the morning of the hike called for thunderstorms in the early afternoon. Andy and Megan decided to take a chance and try to beat the rain during the 8 mile hike. Unfortunately for Andy's plans, 20 minutes into the hike, the rain began pouring down. At this point, they felt they had committed (and arguably stupidly...) decided to continue the hike! The hike was full of ponchos and scrambles made far more difficult in the rain. Looking back, the forecast perfectly highlighted some of Megan's favorite traits about Andy. During the hike he was patient, supportive, adventurous, and loving. They made it to the top of the mountain together, and were alone thanks to the rain. They laughed that there was no view, ate PB&Js on top of a mountain, and then Andy asked Megan to be his wife. It was the happiest moment of her life, and the clouds cleared as they walked down the mountain hand in hand discussing their future together.

The Pandemic Wedding

8/28/20

We unfortunately had to postpone our big celebration to 2021, but we couldn't wait to get married! We had a beautiful ceremony with our immediate family along the water in Fells Point in Baltimore. We are SO excited to celebrate again on 7/16/2021, but this time with all of our favorite people! Thanks for sending us so much support over this past year! We felt so much love.
