McIntosh Preserve is an approximately 360-acre preserve. It contains 2.2 miles of trails. The trails go through fields and small woods. There is a 30-foot observation tower and a small play area for children at the end of the main trail. The Preserve is home to various vegetative communities, with both wetlands and uplands present. Many different wildlife are on the property.
Among its main attractions is a 700-acre reservoir used for canoeing, boating, and fishing. Also included is a 3-mile trail that offers equestrians, hikers, and bird watchers a pleasant trip through pine flatwoods and hardwood hammocks. Edward Medard Park also offers picnic shelters, a boardwalk, a playground for the kids, and an observation platform overlooking the reservoir.

Stroll along the river rapids, enjoy camping, explore historic structures, share a picnic or view scenic landscapes. Hillsborough River State Park provides many opportunities for outdoor recreation.
