Our story began at a local bar, where Andy spotted Lisha across the room and decided to send her a drink. Though it wasn’t her usual order, she accepted it with a smile and walked over to thank him. Over the next few years, our paths kept crossing—chance encounters that felt like more than just coincidence. Then, in March 2022, fate stepped in once again, and this time, we knew it was meant to be. From that moment on, we’ve been inseparable.

Andy had a plan—one that involved a little creativity, a lot of love, and the perfect winter setting. With the help of Lisha’s close friend, a photographer who had captured many special moments for our family, he set everything in motion. Her friend casually reached out to Lisha, saying she had a new camera flash to test and needed a couple for a “romantic fun shoot” before the Christmas lights at Falls Park came down. At eight months pregnant, Lisha wasn’t exactly eager to brave the cold South Dakota winter, especially since she felt like she had nothing to wear. But with some convincing from Andy, she agreed to go. As the camera clicked away, Andy turned to Lisha and began telling her just how much she meant to him and how he couldn’t imagine life without her. Then, in the middle of the softly glowing lights, he stepped back, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him. And, of course, she said YES!
