Andy and Lindsay met over fifteen years ago in high school. Although Andy was in the grade above Lindsay, they had a few classes together that first year: French and a math class, and they were both in the Wind Ensemble. Andy played the French horn, and Lindsay played the oboe. Their first date was January 2nd, 2011, the first full day that Lindsay was back from visiting family in Colorado. They had spent the entire winter break texting and messaging each other nonstop. Andy and Lindsay both continued in the Wind Ensemble throughout their time in high school. They spent a lot of time together during extra rehearsals, traveling to local competitions, and even once traveling to California for a competition. They lived together at Lindsay's mother's house while Lindsay attended college and their first few years in the workforce. During this time, they adopted Andy's cat, Grady. Andy, Lindsay, and Grady first moved into their own apartment on January 1st, 2020. More recently, they moved from Portland, Oregon, to Boston, Massachusetts, for a job opportunity. While in Boston, Andy changed career paths, became a certified emergency medical technician in Massachusetts, and was hired by Boston EMS. Lindsay is finishing up a Master's in Public Health at Tufts University while working in an academic research lab. Andy proposed on April 25th, 2025, in front of the Central Library in Copley Square, following his badging ceremony, with a placeholder ring, as UPS had misplaced the real ring. It was eventually recovered.
