How We Met

1-26-2022

We connected on Hinge when Andy replied to Elizabeth's prompt. Her prompt said, "Together, we could...get married, have kids and get a mini-goldendoodle." Andy replied, "Already have the third one covered! Want to work on the the other two? ;)" The conversation continued from there, a month into chatting, Elizabeth realized she was really enjoying the conversation. So she asked if he would be interested in meeting up. On January 26, 2022, a snowy night in Buffalo, we met up at Neat for dinner. Elizabeth was very impressed when Andy finished the pizza they shared, so decided to see him again. He kept impressing her with his talents (ex. brownie baking, Lego making), and the rest is history!

The Proposal

6-13-2023

Andy knew that Elizabeth had always dreamed of a beach engagement. So when a Licata family trip to the Outer Banks was planned, Andy got to work. A few months before the vacation, Jane (Elizabeth's mom) reached out to the family informing them that they would be doing Christmas card photos in the Outer Banks. On Tuesday, June 13, 2023 the family headed to Nags Head for photos with Natalie Heim. They took a few family photos, then it was decided that pictures of couples would be taken next. Elizabeth's brother, Dan and his wife, Eliza were up first. Next up, were Jane and Mike. Andy and Elizabeth were last to go. All of a sudden, Andy pulled a ring box out of his back pocket, and got down on one knee. Andy asked, Elizabeth if she would marry him. As Elizabeth exclaimed, "I will!" not thinking, she took the ring out of the box, put it on her finger without looking. Kate (Elizabeth's sister) said, "Put the ring on her finger!" as a reminder not to drop it in the ocean. As Kate said this, Elizabeth realized that she put the ring on her pinky finger! As Elizabeth later found out, Andy hired the photographer to capture the engagement, and everybody knew he was going to propose. It was a day to remember; it was a vacation to remember; and we have the photos to cherish forever.
