Explore Bend

There is so much to do in Bend! We hope you find something to enjoy and get to experience the great outdoors while you're here!
Tumalo Creek Falls Waterfall and/or Hike

Tumalo Creek Falls Waterfall and/or Hike

OR 97703

You can drive right up to the base of the waterfall or make a 6-mile hike out of it. This will take you right by our wedding venue and through some beautiful forest landscape along Tumalo Creek. It is a popular spot so best to get up there early!

Pilot Butte Trail

Pilot Butte Trail

Pilot Butte Trail, Bend, OR 97701

This 1.8-mile out-and-back trail gives you a 360-view of the Cascade Mountains and the town of Bend. Generally considered an easy route, it takes about an hour to complete. This is great for a morning walk to catch the sunrise.

Todd Lake

Todd Lake

OR 97703

This lake is about 20 minutes outside of Bend right past Mt. Bachelor. The 1.5 mile flat trial loops around the lake and takes an average of 35 min to complete. Plan to eat a snack by the lake or read a book. Great little escape from town.

Rent a Bike & Explore!

Rent a Bike & Explore!

Pine Mountain Sports: Best Mountain Bike Rentals We recommend jumping on a mountain bike and heading out to Phils Trailhead to get a taste of the 400 miles of single track Bend has to offer! Wheels Fun Rentals: Family Bikes, Cruisers, Kid Bikes & Stroller Joggers- everything outside a mountain bike. Want to bike as you go? Download the BIRD App and jump on a city pedal-assist bike.

Walk the River Trail

Walk the River Trail

Deschutes River Trail, Bend, OR 97702

Take a walk along the river! You can make it as short or long as you want. Andy and I love to walk the dogs on a 4.4-mile loop trail called Deschutes Rive Trail- Old Mill Reach.

Float the Deschutes River

Float the Deschutes River

The only way to do summer in Bend! The easiest and most popular route is to put your tube in at Riverbend Park and take out McKay or Drake Park. Give yourself an hour to enjoy this lazy meandering float along the Deschutes River and be sure to run the mini rapids at the end! Once you reach McKay or Drake Park, jump out and hoof it back to your car! If you decide to self-shuttle, it takes about 20 minutes. We have Bird Bikes and if you download the Bird App, you can find a city bike to get back to your car quicker.

River Floating 101

Need rentals? Inner tube rentals are available at Tumalo Creek Kayak & Canoe and The Powder House. If you’re more interested in renting a standup paddle board (SUP) or kayak, you can visit Tumalo Creek’s location in Riverbend Park or the Stand On Liquid shop. Be sure to throw on those water shoes or sandals that stay on your feet, so you don’t lose them to the river! Bring a waterproof bag of some sort for belongings, like car keys or a phone. This is a pro move and we highly suggest it! Sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, water, bubbly, cervezas, tequila etc.
