We will be getting married in an intimate ceremony with just our families and our wedding party on Thursday, August 13, 2020. While we're unable to invite all of our original guests due to unknowns about gathering restrictions and our desire to keep our guests safe, we plan on throwing a huge party next year! We'll be sure to let you know when we've made plans for the reception!
(Written by Jess) We were on our way to our favorite little Saint Paul pub, the place we usually go to on Friday afternoon after work, the place that was just a few miles away from home and just around the corner from the local community center. I was looking at cute dogs on Instagram; he was secretly taking me to a pit-stop on the way to the pub. I was blissfully clueless. I felt the car stop, and I looked up to notice we were in a parking lot. “Oh, we must have parked across the street,” I thought to myself, “I guess our favorite little pub is right over there.” I started to get out, and he stopped me. “Do you know where we are?” He asked. I looked around and a faint memory came back: “Oh yeah! We are at that community center where we went to that soccer game on our 3rd date.” I smiled, remembering that day over two years ago, when he had invited me to watch some of his students play in a soccer game. I got to meet Westy pup for the first time that day as well. I had decided that day that I really liked this guy, too. “Do you see that sign over there?” He said, pointing to the front of the building, It was large block letters that greeted the building's guests when they walked in. I noticed it two years ago, and it made me smile when I saw it again this time. “We belong together,” I said, and I immediately thought: “Aw, he is being sporadically romantic for no reason at all! What a nice surprise!” And then he starting fumbling with his pocket, reaching to get his chapstick, in much the same way he’s reached for his chapstick approximately 1 million times since I’ve known him. Except for this time, it wasn’t chapstick. 😍 It was a ring, and I absolutely didn’t see it coming! I practically jumped out of my seatbelt and smothered him with a huge hug before he could even ask. I didn’t really hear much of what he said, but yes, yes, absolutely yes - we belong together.
(Written by Andy) Short Story: We met on Tinder. Long Story: After chatting for a few days via Tinder and text, we arranged to meet in person at a concert that I was invited to by a couple of friends. We thought that it would be amusing if I told my friends that my co-worker was going to join us only to reveal later that they had just witnessed our first meeting. I arrived at the show and unfortunately discovered that it had sold out! I relayed this information to Jess feeling disappointed that our plan wasn't going to happen. A text back informed me that she was with a group of friends at Indeed Brewing -- we could attempt to fool them instead. After quickly mentioning that I was currently sporting a shaggy, unkempt beard (she had only seen photos of me with a near clean shaven face) I was on my way! I arrived at Indeed and cooly said hello to Jess (as co-workers would, of course) as we did our best to play up the gag. While the joke didn't quite play out as well as we had hoped that night, our plan for us was off to a great start.
