One of the best snorkeling trips in Hawaii - Molokini is a sunken volcano which protects wildlife from the open ocean, making it the perfect calm nook to see up to 250 varieties of fish, birds, and mammals, plus 38 varieties of coral. In the early morning, the visibility is amazing, and, on a good day, you can see up to 150 feet deep. There are a number of tour operators on island, but we recommend Trilogy Excursions.
The road to Hana and the town itself are so special. Take at least two days (if you've got them), drive safe, and prepare yourself for one of the most scenic and spectacular roads ever driven. In Hana town catch the world's most beautiful beach, Hamoa Beach, and incredible Thai food from Thai Food by Pranee...truly magical!
Most beautiful little public beach and beach town. Grab a coffee + açaí bowl in the morning, go for a run on the beach, get a fresh Mahi sandwich at the fish market, get an authentic Aloha shirt at one of the many boutiques...a town not to be missed. This is the start of the Road to Hana.
A challenging but reward hike along a Ridgeline that divides the wet and dry side of the island - you will see lush Kahalui / Paia Town / Haleakala in one direction and the sunny dry northern shore including Kahakuloa in the other. NOT a leisurely walk :)
Leoda's pies are world-famous! Banana cream, coconut cream, chocolate mac nut, Olowalu lime, the possibilities are endless! The kitchen also serves delicious breakfast and lunch...located in the heart of Olowalu town.
The Olowalu Reef is expansive and protected, with little to no motorized boat traffic, it is an ideal place to take a kayaking tour and see the marine life within the reef. Sea turtles, reef sharks, and oh so many fish, Kayak Olowalu includes snorkeling to get up close. We will be there at the start of whale season, if you're lucky you'll see migrating humpbacks swimming through!
