The year is 2021 and people are setting up their very own (and very "free") wedding websites?!?! This is our attempt to jump into the mix, and hopefully put a little Andy and Bre spin on it. We hope you enjoy reading and looking through it. But mostly, we want to make sure you have all the info you need for 8-28-2021!! Below is a he-said vs she-side description of how our proposal night happened. (One likely very accurate, the other likely very skewed) And then of course make sure to click around to find all the other info you may need to know for the big day! We hope to see you all there in August! -Andy and Bre-
Before I tell this story, I need to add a side note and start with why it took so long. I found “the box” back in December of 2019. I just saw that it said Diamonds Direct and freaked out! I then started getting my nails done every 2 weeks to ensure I was ready for the proposal! Well, Andy found out that I knew he had the ring and put me in “time out." Then of course Covid happened further delaying him asking me. Every weekend when we had nothing going on, (which was far and few between), I thought it would happen. I had absolutely no idea he was going to do it on a random Thursday. So, here is the story told by Bre’s view: I went to Condados for happy hour with my co-workers. I left about 4pm and was there until 7:30pm. I called Andy on my way home and told him how I had to shower when I got home because I was so gross from sitting outside. He seemed totally normal on the phone. I got home and ran to the bathroom, then he asked me to put Murphy in the guest room. He then asked me to walk up the stairs and close my eyes. I saw him standing at the top, wearing white, and holding his phone. I started walking up the stairs and the song "Marry Me” by Jason Derulo comes on. I immediately started crying, and by this point I’m crawling up the stairs. When I get to him, I was like “Is this it?” “Is this really happening?”. He then pulled me into our guest room (eyes are still closed), which he transformed into this beautiful balloon wonderland. He got on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was absolutely amazing and I was completely surprised.
I read through Bre’s version of the events before typing my own and I honestly think she did a pretty good job of accurately recapping that wonderful night. So maybe I’m not here to disagree with my soon to be wife, but more so, I’ll add in some new details and make sure you’re getting the real story. 1 – Yes, she certainly did get put into the penalty box. And, she still claims to this day that she never actually opened the Diamonds Direct box and got to see the ring early. In her defense, the ring was discovered hidden amongst boxes and random items in a closet that she randomly decided to thoroughly clean. I do appreciate the effort. And babe if you're reading this, I have a birthday present for you hidden in the upstairs bathroom as well. 2 – The rest of the story about her arrival home and the proposal is pretty accurate. Although, while she was out enjoying happy hour with the girls, it was a big choppy and nervous mess from my perspective. I ran into MANY technical difficulties after Bre left home. This included: Running out of helium. Running out of balloons. A trip back to the store. An electric air-pump that wasn’t strong enough to blow up the balloons. Additional lights that needed setup. Lots of huffin' and puffin' to blow-up balloons. And an unknown deadline for when Bre would be returning home that night. Yikes! 3 – In the end, my DJ and videography skills weren’t top-notch, but I was able to successfully surprise her like she told me she always wanted it to be. A great night it turned out to be on 8-27-2020. And now onward to 8-28-21 we go!!!
