We’re getting married!

Déborah Andriani

and

Anthony Lovelace, Sr.

August 25, 2024

Cardington, OH

How did we meet?

Déborah & Anthony met at Otterbein back in 2008. Anthony told a mutual friend that he wanted to be friends with Déborah, but she felt like he needed to come introduce himself if he wanted to be friends. Later that evening, they met each other at the library and Anthony came to introduce himself. A few months later, Anthony and Déborah saw each other at a Halloween party. Anthony asked Déborah to dance but Déborah didn’t want to dance, so they just talked. Later, Anthony saw Déborah was on Facebook instant messenger and sent her a message saying “you still owe me a dance”. From then on, their friendship began. They went on walks around campus, studied at the library, and worked out together. The summer leading up to sophomore year, their friendship grew. Déborah worked at Panda Express and Anthony would request her to bring orange chicken just to see her! Her nickname then became “orange chicken” and the rest is history. They began dating on August 22,2009. Throughout college, Anthony was on the football team while Déborah cheered him on from the stands as part of the marching band. As college students, many of their dates consisted of movie nights, Pizza Primo, donut walks, Applebees, and more. Fast forward to today, a couple bachelors and masters degrees, a house, and three kids later {Maëva (8), Anthony Jr. (6), and Maëlys (3)} they are finally tying the knot!

The proposal

“Our love is 4ever”

It was Déborah’s birthday! Anthony had planned for them to go to an escape room for the second time. This time, Déborah’s sister, Rebecca, joined them in hopes to get out of the room faster. The escape room was called “the Gold Rush”, with the mission being to find the gold. The three of them worked together to solve all the clues and made it to the last part of the game which was in a “mine”. With 10 minutes left on the clock, Déborah went to the last clue of the game: on top of a box sitting on top of the gold, covered with rose petals and candles. Not thinking anything of it, Déborah was still in game mode, opened the box and saw a “Kay Jewelers” box inside. Inside the box, was a note with the words “turn around” on it. As Déborah turned around, she saw Anthony on one knee holding a ring. It was not until that moment- that Déborah realized what was going on. He asked her “Will you marry me?” She asked him if he was joking, grabbed the ring and said “Yes!”
