Joe and I met through a dating app and I remember very clearly I felt the night of our first date that this was a different feeling. Joe took me to a very beautiful restaurant in New Albany and we had beautiful conversation. The food was yummy too! Once dinner was over, Joe walked me to my car and proceeded to say Goodnight. I stopped him and said “No way is this night ending so quickly”. I then asked him to follow me to the riverside (not mentioning he definitely felt like he was going into a true crime horror story). We sat by the riverside overlooking the city. Ah! What a perfect breeze. It felt like the entire city was alone with us. I knew then, I was to be his. Forever.
Joe and I kept a very busy schedule with work. We recently got into playing Virtual Reality games and we found it relaxing to play a few games after work. One evening, I found myself home on the couch ready to play a few games after a long day of work. For those that dont know how the VR system works, there is a grid created on the headset which allows you to stay in the space without running into any items around you. Once you step out of this “grid” the camera on the VR turns on showing you a live version of the room you are standing in. I proceeded to leave this grid and sat down on thr couch. Here is when I noticed (on the VR) Joe stand up and get in front of me and get down on one knee. While in my mind I knew exactly what was happening, I could not comprehend it. My friend stood in the same room (not visible on the VR) recording this entire experience. I slowly removed my headset in disbelief. I proceeded to then question Joe if he was being serious and finally gave into the reality of it and said “Yes!”
