How We Met

Thank Goodness We Swiped Right

Andrexia "JoJo" and Christion both grew up in small towns about 30 minutes apart. And although their schools often met each other in extra-curricular activities, they'd never seen each other. JoJo was the social and extra-curricular butterfly and Christion was not so much. They both graduated high school in 2010 and went on to college. JoJo was attending Troy University at the time and Christion was going to University of South Alabama. Their friends told them about an app that was popping at the time, Tinder. They both were on it just for kicks, nothing really serious or otherwise. JoJo tended to swipe left on everyone, not seeing anyone attractive or worth talking to and then this handsome guy comes across the screen. After realizing his profile only had one picture and fearing he might be a catfish, she thought about continuing to swipe left, BUT Christion was just TOO good looking for her to pass up the chance. So, she did and the words, "It's A Match!" popped up on her screen. And Christion wasted no time starting the chat even though he's a bit shy in real life. They had deep and meaningful from conversations about God, love, and the meaning of life and then they had shallow and funny quips about Spongebob quotes and playing video games. When JoJo told Christion she played video games, he said "I think I found my wife." Tinder conversations turned to texting, texting turned to phone calls and finally a date! After a dinner of ribs (for her) and chicken tenders (for him), Christion decided he could stand to have another date with JoJo! So, a few dates later on February 15th, 2014, Christion asked JoJo to be his girlfriend and so we deleted our Tinder profiles forever and the rest is history!

The Proposal

10.9.19

What JoJo thought was a regular weekday beach trip, was actually the perfect set up by Christion and two of their best friends (with the help of their friends and family for months in advance) for a proposal by the shore. Christion took JoJo down to Destin, on the other side of Crab Island on a Wednesday night. JoJo thought they were just enjoying the beach scenery and what seemed to be the Great Migration of jellyfish and Christion "found" a whole sand dollar which JoJo had never seen before. And upon further inspection, the other side of the sand dollar had a PERFECT message. Will you marry me? Of course she bursted out in tears and managed to squeal out a BRO YES! And now we know we're #McBridetobeGregory!
