How We Met

1/17/19

Both being in the bar industry, it was only a matter of time before they met. If you ask either of them, they both have their versions - but low and behold the spirit of tequila brought them together. Working as a bartender, Alex had made hundreds of cocktails with Ryan's bitters before officially meeting him downtown at his bar. Once she became a tequila ambassador, she went to introduce herself to Ryan and his bar staff. She may have had a few drinks that night, but Ryan still thought she was being nice and doing her job of wanting to sell him some tequila. Thank goodness for our officiant, Maximillien to question Ryan on their interaction. Fortunately, stubborn Ryan actually listened, remembered her full name, cyber stalked her on social media and slid into her DMs. The rest is history.

The Propsal

11/14/21

Alex and Ryan had a family trip down to Guadalajara and decided to extend their stay to none other than the city of Tequila itself! They decided to stay an extra day in the small town, and Ryan convinced Alex to go visit and tour his good friends private distillery. On top of the tour, he kept pushing to go horseback riding through the agave fields. In Alex's mind - they have both seen the town of Tequila, and multiple distilleries - why go see another?? (She had NO clue what was coming)... After the early morning tour, they continued with Ryan's plan to explore the agave fields on horsebacks. Once out in the private fields, Ryan mumbled how he knew he fell in love with Alex in these fields and he how wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Speechless, her first words were "Shut UP!"... After pictures were taken... they had to get back on the horses to head back to the distillery to celebrate! Unfortunately- Ryan's horse got a bit too excited for the couple and whipped his head into Alex's horse, and her horse decided to spook. He suddenly started SPRINTING down the path and past the distillery where he was supposed to park. Alex had no choice but to lose her hat, her phone and her body at that matter. Getting thrown off the horse, with the horse falling right after her, she landed hard after a couple of rolls. Her first thought was - is the ring okay?! (Thank goodness it was still in tact!) 2 hospital trips, 4 weeks in a full leg wrap and an ego bruise later, she is able to walk again with the future looking bright for the happy couple.
