Kate & Ryan first met while they were both working as ocean lifeguards in Huntington Beach. Ryan was good friends with Kate's older brother, Drew, and the two quickly began spending time together among friends. In an incredibly clever long-term plan to get to know Ryan, Kate joined Jiu Jitsu with Ryan and a few coworkers. Luckily, the plan worked and rest is history. Kate & Ryan officially began dating at the end of the summer. Kate was immediately drawn to Ryan's sense of humor and how he is always cool, calm and collected. She took joy in finding his softer side in their conversations together. Ryan fell for Kate's positive and outgoing personality, and her ability to light up a room. Both Kate and Ryan love to spend time with friends and family (especially the family dogs, Zoey, Roxie, Brie, and Bailey). Together, the two share a passion for skiing, hiking, camping, and discovering the sport of pickleball! Both Kate and Ryan realized quickly that they shared a competitive nature, and pickleball games proved this (although not always played with the best sportsmanship, if Kate was hungry). Ryan was also enamored when he found out that Kate could ski faster (and arguably better) than him on their first trips together to Mammoth Mountain. This became one of their favorite places to spend time together! Ryan proposed to Kate in the meadow at Snowcreek in Mammoth Lakes. They took some of their first photos together in the same spot. It was picture-perfect, and right before sunset! This moment was quickly shared with friends and family over FaceTime, and captured on camera by Kate's sister, Carly and her boyfriend Jack! Ryan was prepared with charcuterie, flowers, and celebratory champagne back at the house. This story has been written with nothing but love, and the couple can't wait to share it with all of their favorite people on this special day.
