Christina and Jenny met their freshman year at UCLA when they both opened their dorm room doors for their first floor meeting. They exchanged a look and, rather than attending, hid together and skipped every week after. Since that first day, Christina has been by Jenny’s side. She has saved her from countless close calls, like showing up with a lab coat for a forgotten chemistry lab. She was also always ready to be the first to commiserate with her after each exam...but only if she could catch Jenny before she power walked up the hill back to the dorms. Throughout their years of friendship, their chaotic personalities seemed to only complement each other. They promised each other years ago, before she was even married to her now husband, Joe that they would be each others maid of honors and it's finally time!
Connor Shumate
Best Man
Connor is Andrew's brother, best man, and best friend. Andrew considers himself the luckiest guy in the world to have Connor as his brother. From taking care of a garage full of rabbits, to countless hours at the Broad Rock tennis courts, to family vacations, to visiting each other in New York and Boston, they've always been each other's biggest supporter and best friend. Andrew and Jenny have loved having Connor join them for many trips and really appreciate Connor putting up with all the snacking they do. Connor and Jenny have the exact same sense of humor and Andrew will often be left shaking his head while the two of them are cracking up. If you're looking for the crispest, clearest ice in town for your beach day, be sure to visit Connor at the Pier Ice Plant!
Elise Chen

Elise is Jenny's cousin and, being an only child, is the closest she had to a sister growing up. Often told they look similar in photos, they are also pretty similar in personality! The only difference is Elise is the more adventurous version. They traveled to Hawaii together during Covid and during that trip, Elise not only attempted to teach her how to surf, but also encouraged them to do a hike in the pouring rain with only ropes and get on a bike for the first time in a decade. Although each one of those activities ended up being pretty unsuccessful, they had a great time! Elise, although younger, inspires her to be fearless and is always there with a helping hand (sometimes literally).
Cliff Bueno de Mesquita

Andrew and Cliff met freshman year of high school, when they were doubles partners on the tennis team. Despite Andrew showing up to their first match with his tennis gear in an old duffel bag and not knowing how to hit a backhand, Cliff was very patient and supportive and they won 4 states championships together. From kayaking all over Rhode Island, chasing deer through the woods in Kingston, climbing the Flatirons in Boulder, road tripping through Vermont and Utah, and ping pong battles in Cliff's basement, they've had countless memorable adventures. If you see a good climbing tree and look up, Cliff will probably be waving down to you!
Paulina Young

Paulina and Jenny first met on a Facebook forum looking for roommates before they started at UCLA. They each filled out surveys and realized how perfect they'd be as roommates! Unfortunately, they did not end up assigned together...but Paulina still came over to Jenny's dorm the first day to help her move in and has been supportive every day since. Not living together didn't stop them from being inseparable throughout their first 2 years and eventually they were able to finally become roommates their last 2 years! Their friendship has taught Jenny to be unabashedly herself and they both love the movie Bridesmaids and will find any reason to quote it. "Khob-kun-Ka. And that's it for tonight!"
Tim Puterio
Groomsman
Despite their infamous loss in the 2009 state tennis finals, Tim and Andrew have remained close friends. Tim (and Andrew's rackets) went on to play D1 tennis at Delaware! Andrew and Tim learned how to jumpstart a car when their van broke down about 15 times in the middle of the desert (hit us up if you're in need), but that didn't stop them from having a great time. Tim is Andrew's most Instagram-famous friend- you've probably seen his (and his girlfriend Katrina's) Instagram "MyNomadGirlfriend" - thousands of followers at this point. Keep an ear open for Tim's giggle during the speeches!
Mega Patel

Mega and her excellent skills of befriending anyone is one of many reasons she made living in Boston 10x better when she moved to be with her now husband, Amit. Mega became Andrew and Amit's 3rd roommate, and Jenny was so thankful to have another fun, Southern California girl around! They frequented Lolita's (a Mexican restaurant) and MIDA (where she knew everyone who worked there within weeks of moving) and spent countless hours laughing and making sure they would not be home sick together. The Boston cold was never too cold with Mega around!
Alvin Tin
Groomsman
Andrew and Alvin were freshman year roommates, and from Keeney Quad to today, they've been close friends. From all-nighters and 5am breakfasts at Joe's, to watching Patriots games (and many Super Bowl wins), to making the move from Providence to Boston together, to ski/snowboard trips, to 32A Burnside, they've made countless memories. Andrew will forever be thankful to Alvin for letting him crash at his place countless times when he was commuting to Boston. They may spend a lot of time discussing the physics of flying and the intricacies of smoking brisket, but watch out...when "Walk It Out" plays, Alvin will be tearing up the dance floor!
Camille Amparo

This photo is one of the very first photos Jenny and Camille took together...it was also how they met! They were both just fresh out of college, starting a new research job, and somehow got sucked into organizing an entire multi-day neurosurgery conference at the LA Convention Center (insane to let two, 21 year olds be in charge of this). They became fast friends and realized how much they actually had in common. Fast forward many years, they've hiked and travelled all over the world from Havasupai (one of the first multi day hiking trips) to most recently, Patagonia!
Amit Patel

Andrew first met Amit during PA school interview day at BU, and they eventually became roommates and good friends. Amit's homemade salsa and southwest margaritas powered them through PA school and they bonded over their love for college basketball and the Celtics/Suns. Amit spent hours helping Andrew plan how to ask Jenny out and was overall very instrumental in Andrew and Jenny's relationship starting. From the South End to LA, Amit, Andrew, Jenny, and Mega have had many crazy and memorable times. Although Andrew and Amit's apartment decorating skills may be lacking, they will always be close friends!
Francesca Amparo

Fran, Camille's sister was introduced to Jenny and quickly they became a trio of friends! She spent her first anniversary with her now husband, Ralph trekking through the AZ desert with them at Havasupai...and it was the beginning of many more crazy trips! Fran is the much needed voice of reason at times for Jenny and Camille. For example, when they ran into a bear while hiking in Mammoth, she rightfully suggested they turn around when Jenny and Camille initially thought it would be fine to continue. When they're not traveling, Jenny, Fran & Camille love Salt & Straw and will make it a point to schedule dinners around months with good flavors.
Joseph Maeng

Not only is he a pastor's son (which is pretty darn close to a religious figure), Joe is a close friend to Jenny and Andrew. Jenny first met Joe when he and Christina began dating. From the start, Joe made sure she was always included—whether it was holiday parties or tailgates. He has been like an older brother to Jenny and is always supportive of her relationship with Andrew as well. Andrew's first introduction to the LA street taco was also with Joe (an unforgettable moment)! And over the past 6 years, Andrew and Joe have gotten to know each other through trips to San Diego, Pismo, birthdays, game nights, and dinners. We are thankful for him for all these shared memories and for agreeing to be a part of our next big step in our lives!
