Vienna and Andrew met in McNary Hall at Oregon State University during the first week of school. Andrew was going door to door gathering signatures to run for hall council president and he stopped by Vienna's room (Hao was there too! Vienna and Hao were freshman year roommates). Vienna instantly sensed that Andrew seemed familiar, but when they got to talking, they couldn't pinpoint why. This feeling would linger for years unaddressed. Through their college years, they dated other people, explored their own interests, and had separate friend groups. Although they were not romantically involved, they still found ways to keep in touch, a couple examples being coworkers as RAs (with Kevin and Anthony!) or just checking in on each other and grabbing a bite to eat. Senior year of college is where the story gets interesting. The two had overlapping classes, so Vienna would invite Andrew to study with her and a few sorority sisters, Angela, Brittany, and Kendra (DLAM!). They definitely hung out more than they studied, but it was worth it because Vienna and Andrew got to know each other better. After Vienna brought up to the girls that she might be interested in taking the relationship out of friend zone and into relationship zone, a pro/con list was made on a whiteboard in Kelley Engineering hall. As you could guess by now, there were more pros than cons, so a flip was switched in Vienna's head. V&A would find ways to spend time together one-on-one without studying. When they look back on those times, they would call these "pseudo dates"; outside looking in, they were just dates where neither party would admit it. After the first term of senior year, a celebration was a must, so with the stress of the term behind them, they finally had time to figure out those lingering un-categorized feelings from when they first met. The rest of the story includes becoming a nurse for Andrew, Tooth Taxi adventures for Vienna (where Steven is added as a new character!), living with roommates during COVID lock-down (with Katherine and Steven!), sharing the responsibility of a 90 lb dog (Miss Luna, of course), buying their first house, deciding together that they should get married (February 14th, 2025), then getting married legally a week later when Andrew's hospital was on strike (February 22th, 2025). Thank you for celebrating our story today and everyday, we can't wait to add more memories with you on June 6th, 2026!
