While we lived just two houses across the street from each other, we only knew each other by sight. Tracey and Andrew’s wife Anne knew each other from their kids' common interests and got along just fine. Eventually Tracey moved from Mary Lynn Drive to the village of Canastota. 


Fast forward to 2019. The two of us got to know each other more through mutual friends. While with many couples it was love at first site, nothing could be further from the truth with us. Tracey thought Andrew was a pompous ass and Andrew thought Tracey was stuck-up. This all changed when Tracey told Andrew she would go to a horror movie with him, so on March 26, 2019 we went to see the movie “Us”


After a few months of movies and occasional dinners, the relationship progressed from being friends to being a couple. We enjoyed day trips to wineries, dinners, going to Cazenovia, and other fun outings. While there was informal talks of marriage, it was not something that was happening soon, or so Tracey thought. 


On July 9 at Cazenovia Lake Andrew surprised Tracey by proposing. To say surprised is an understatement, Tracey was caught completely off guard and was walking away while Andrew was on his knee trying to propose. After he took care of her after two surgeries she knew he was the one and after years of being alone, Andrew literally ended up marrying the girl next door.
