Sydney & Andrew met in May 2022 at Neighbor’s Pub in Virginia Highlands—both out with friends and not looking for anything serious. Sydney spotted Andrew from across the bar (it’s hard to miss someone who’s 6’5”) and decided to take matters into her own hands. After asking a childhood friend for an introduction, we met—and pretty quickly became inseparable from that night on. Not long after, Andrew started planning dates around Atlanta, including some of our now-favorite spots like MF Sushi and Blue India. Things took a turn toward serious when he invited Sydney over for a home-cooked meal—and encouraged her to bring her dog, Ridley. That night confirmed two very important things: Andrew was ready to try out the “dog dad” life, and he is an exceptional cook (a talent Sydney fully appreciates and takes advantage of to this day). Just two months later, Andrew asked Sydney to be his girlfriend—right before she headed to Austin, Texas for six weeks. What was supposed to be a quick weekend visit for Andrew turned into a two-week stay, which told us everything we needed to know: we weren’t very good at being apart. Back in Atlanta, we spent the next couple of years living just a short walk from each other before officially moving in together in May 2025. Living together showed us what it looks like to build a life side by side - sharing everyday moments, working from home together, and learning how to navigate it all as a team (with Ridley supervising, of course). In June 2025, Andrew proposed on our anniversary in Portland, Maine—completely surprising Sydney (a rare feat). It was the perfect weekend: a beautiful proposal, a celebratory boat ride, and time to soak it all in together the following few days in Ogunquit, Maine. Portland will always hold a special place in our hearts as the place we got engaged—and where we got to celebrate such a big moment, just the two of us. These days, you can usually find us walking Ridley, trying a new restaurant, planning our next trip, or turning just about anything into a competition—pickleball, tennis, pool…you name it (Andrew usually wins, but Sydney would argue it’s getting closer). We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you in November—our favorite people, all in one place, kicking off what we know will be the best adventure yet!
