Sydney and Andrew’s story began long before their first date. Growing up in neighboring towns in Harford County, they were part of the same circle of high school athletes. Their paths crossed a few times, always friendly, but never more than that. Fast forward a few years—while Sydney was in physical therapy school, Andrew slid into her DMs. He said he had a few questions about the University of Maryland’s medical school since he was considering applying at the time. Sydney agreed to meet for dinner, and while they briefly talked about school, it quickly became clear this was really Andrew’s way in. That dinner in 2019 turned out to be their first date—though Sydney didn’t realize it at the time. Luckily, it worked, and before long Andrew had practically moved in with Sydney and her roommate (shoutout to Emily Wunder) and their relationship began to blossom. Somewhere in those early days came their first kiss—a moment they still laugh about. Sydney had to be the one to ask for it. Andrew says it was because he was being a gentleman. Sydney says it was because he was too scared. Either way, it sealed the deal. Life took them on new adventures together when Andrew was accepted into PA school at Marquette University in Milwaukee. Sydney followed him to the Midwest, where they braved the coldest Wisconsin winters and soaked up beer- and cheese-curd-filled summers. Those two years brought them even closer (literally... it was too cold so being close kept them warm lol), and their love only grew stronger. When Andrew graduated, they returned to Baltimore, settling into their adult lives with their sweet puppy, Finn. Not long after, Andrew planned the perfect proposal: in front of the very house where Sydney had lived during PT school—the same house where their love grew into something amazing. It was a full-circle moment, and through happy tears, Sydney said YES. And now, surrounded by the people they love most, they can’t wait to begin their forever—and to share the next chapter of their love story with you. Let's party!!
