Things To Do

Below are fun areas to explore, activities, and food/coffee/brewery and bar recommendations. Downtown Durham is very walkable and easy to walk between neighborhoods.

Sarah P. Duke Gardens

420 Anderson Street, Durham, NC 27708

Beautiful and very large garden to walk around!

Durham Central Park

501 Foster Street, Durham, NC 27701

A fun neighborhood where Stephanie used to live. In this area, check out: Durham Food Hall, Motorco Music Hall, Cocoa Cinnamon Coffee (W. Geer St) and nearby parks and shops. There's a lovely farmers market on Saturday from 9-12 with food and crafts. Very close to Marriott.

Brightleaf Square

905 West Main Street, Durham, NC 27701

A fun area close to the Marriott with shops, restaurants, and bars. An easy walk from this area to the Central Park Neighborhood and East Campus neighborhood. Check out Viceroy and Nikos for restaurants and Velvet Hippo and Killer Queen for bars.

Duke East Campus

712 Broad Street, Durham, NC 27705

We had our first date here (we recommend stopping at Cloche first for coffee). It's a lovely walk around the path and through the campus. Once you're done head over to 9th st to explore shops or walk 15 minutes to Brightleaf Square.

American Tobacco Campus

300 Blackwell Street, Durham, NC 27701

A cute area with restaurants and shops. An easy walk from here to Marriott (7 minutes) and Brightleaf Square (17 minutes).

Museum of Life and Science

433 West Murray Avenue, Durham, NC 27704

A nice activity for kids.

East Durham

Durham, NC

Not a walkable area but Ponysaurus Brewing (219 Hood St.) and Krill restaurant (506 Ramseur) are both great and across from each other.

For all the days along the way
