Like all great modern love stories, Sierra and Andrew’s began with… Bumble. Yep, the dating app where Sierra made the first move (slay queen). They matched in October 2022, but due to Sierra's chronic case of wanderlust (and Andrew heading back to California for the holidays), they didn’t actually go on their first date until January 6, 2023. Their first date almost didn’t happen, thanks to one of Sierra’s infamous flight delays. (Seriously, if Sierra's involved, assume the plane won’t be on time.) But she was determined — so much so that after a 12-hour shift in the middle of a crazy stretch of working 50+ hours a week, she still said yes to dinner. That’s commitment. Andrew, ever the gentleman, drove an hour to Sarasota, Florida — where Sierra was living during a travel RT assignment. Sierra, true to form, was running a little late. When she was finally led to the table where Andrew was sitting, something magical happened — they locked eyes, and both instantly knew: this is it. The night flew by. Conversation flowed, laughs were shared, and they both tried to stretch the evening as long as possible. From that moment on, they were inseparable. And now, here we are — proof that sometimes, love finds you between long shifts, flight delays, and a dating app swipe.
Sierra and Andrew quickly fell in love while spending time together in sunny St. Pete, where Andrew was living at the time. They cherished every moment — exploring the city, going on runs, paddle boarding, visiting dog beaches, and trying new restaurants. It didn’t take long to realize they had found something truly special. On February 9, 2023, during a dinner date, Andrew asked Sierra to be his girlfriend. Without hesitation, she said yes! They celebrated the start of their relationship with a beautiful evening at a rooftop, taking in the view and the excitement of what was to come. That night, Andrew also invited Sierra on their first trip together — a snowboarding getaway to Breckenridge, Colorado. She couldn’t wait. When the end of the month came, they had the time of their lives. Between the snowy adventures, shared laughs, and Sierra crushing Andrew on the slopes (but really), they knew in their heart that this was meant to be. It felt like everything was falling into place perfectly.
On a beautiful day in Lake Tahoe, what started as a normal snowboarding trip turned into the most unforgettable moment of Sierra and Andrew’s lives. It was their last run of the day at Northstar Mountain — and Sierra definitely wasn’t expecting anything more than apres ski or dinner afterwards. It wasn’t even their anniversary yet, so a proposal was the last thing on her mind. As they reached a scenic spot overlooking the lake, Andrew asked Sierra to stop and take a picture. She thought it was a little odd for Andrew to initiate a picture since he NEVER does but she smiled and posed anyways, completely unaware of what was coming.... Instead of just snapping a photo, Andrew got down on one knee, and proposed. Sierra was completely shocked — like, actual speechless — but of course said YES (once she found the words). In her excitement to hug him, she nearly lost her snowboard down the mountain while trying to unbuckle her bindings. Luckily, with Andrew’s superpower reflexes, he was able to catch her board before it took a tumble. But the surprises weren’t over. At the bottom of the mountain, close friends and family were waiting with champagne in hand, ready to celebrate with the happy couple. The excitement, the cheers, and the joy in that moment were unforgettable. The celebration continued throughout the night, filled with laughter, food, cake, and so much love. It was a day they’ll never forget — the perfect proposal in their favorite place, on top of the world (literally).
Sierra and Andrew did things a little differently — baby first, wedding second — and they wouldn’t have it any other way. They welcomed their beautiful baby boy, Hudson Riley, on July 6, 2024. From the moment he arrived, Hudson has been nothing short of a blessing — pure perfection. Life changed in the best way possible. Turns out, Hudson just couldn’t wait until after the wedding… he had to be there for it. And now it all makes sense — the FOMO this child has is next level! Looking back, it’s clear: Hudson was meant to be part of the journey from the start. And without a doubt, he’s been their favorite chapter yet. The cutest bundle of joy who makes every day brighter and brighter.
