Many of you may already know this story, but my brother, Joshua, was actually the one who brought Andrew and me together. Josh and Andrew had known each other for nearly two years through their Christian campus ministry, Chi Alpha. Josh thought so highly of Andrew that one day, while joking about how to make him part of the family, it came up that one of his sisters was already married—but the other was single… me! Little did we know that this lighthearted idea would go on to change both of our lives forever. Josh later invited several of his Chi Alpha friends over to our house—Andrew included—hoping we would meet and hit it off. And we did. Andrew was well-read, thoughtful, and funny, and he knew how to hold a great conversation. But most of all, I could tell that he loved Jesus deeply, and that left the greatest impression on me that night. A few weeks later, we met again at a young adult conference at Andrew’s home church, Evangel Church in Scotch Plains. Once again, my brother Josh helped bring us together, as we hadn’t yet crossed paths that day. By the end of the event, most people had already left. I wanted to say goodbye to Andrew, but with my brother and his friends gone, I felt nervous. So I prayed, asking God for just two seconds of courage. I walked up, tapped Andrew on the shoulder—and the rest is history. That small, answered prayer changed the course of our lives. We are so grateful to God, who has faithfully provided for us, heard our prayers, and blessed us with each other. We are also deeply thankful for our family and friends who have walked alongside us throughout our relationship and helped us pursue a Christ-centered relationship within community. From weekly get-togethers with family to serving with mentors and friends at the church food pantry, we have been incredibly blessed by each of you. As we begin this new chapter, we are excited to see how God continues to work in and through our lives for His glory. We are so grateful for each of you and cannot wait to celebrate this special day together!
