Sunriver: Sunriver Resort guests have access to tee times at the resort courses Bend: Multiple courses in the Bend area including Tetherow, Widgi Creek, and Lost Tracks. Old Back Nine is a laidback 9-hole course near our house.
When weather is nice tubing the Deschutes River is a Central Oregon classic. In Bend, you can tube from Riverbend Park to Drake Park in downtown. Tubes and shuttles are available for tubing through Tumalo Creek or Sun Country Tours. Sunriver also has areas along the Deschutes River for tubing.
Several trails in and close to Bend for hiking. The Deschutes River Trail is a 3 mile loop along the river at Farewell Park. Smith Rock State Park is 10 minutes north of Redmond and features many great trails along the river and rock formations. Tumalo Mountain is across the street from Mt. Bachelor and provides great view of Mt. Bachelor, Broken Top, and the Three Sisters.
A fun iconic brewery that offers tours with tastings (sign up online) or just stop by for a drink! They also have a location downtown with lots of delicious food options.
The last standing blockbuster is right here in Bend, OR! It’s like stepping back into the late 90’s and early 2000’s & a must see. It’s in between the Redmond Airport & Sunriver in Bend & it’s not far off the highway.
There are around 30 breweries and tasting rooms in the Bend region. Some of our favorites include Bend Brewing, Sunriver Brewing, and Terranaut. There are multiple wine tasting rooms in town including Bend Wine Bar, Bledsoe Family Winery, and Stoller Wine Bar.
Driving past Mt. Bachelor will take you to the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway, this highway gives access to multiple scenic alpine lakes. Hiking, paddle boarding, and kayaking are frequent activities done at these lakes. In June, there may still be snow present in areas around the lakes. Elk Lake Resort has a marina to rent boats and a restaurant for lunch afterwards.
Endless miles of mountain biking trails near Bend for all skill levels. Phil's, Cascade Lakes Visitor Center, and Wanoga Sno-Park are popular trailheads to start your ride. Multiple bike shops have rental bikes available for day rentals.
Sun Country Tour Big Eddy Thriller is a 2 hour round trip whitewater rafting trip out of Bend and Sunriver.
