Sarah and Andrew met during the summer months of 2016 in Washington, D.C. Sarah moved into a new row house apartment in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood with girlfriends she met through a kickball league. Andrew and a buddy were kind enough to help on moving day, as they all shared a mutual friend from Elon University. This act of kindness will forever be the spark that began their relationship. As a thank you, the girls invited the guys out for drinks and appetizers the following evening. The friends strategically (obviously) left Sarah and Andrew alone as they went off to a different venue. Sarah and Andrew, now swept up in their own conversation, walked over to the Satellite Room for beers and a shared serving of tater tots. They talked about school, their families, faith, and discovered commonalities such as a love for travel, environmental conservation, dogs, and pineapple on pizza. During the proceeding months, they got to know each other well, over many more dates and meals cooked for one another. Five years later, they cherish shared experiences including dozens of concerts, many Washington Capitals games, three music festivals, scuba dives, and two international trips. As best friends, they continue to fall more in love each day. Sarah and Andrew are grateful for their parents, siblings, relatives, and friends for shaping them into the adults they are today and for nurturing and supporting their growing relationship.
