Best aquarium I’ve ever been to! There are two buildings side by side on the river. One is a fresh water aquarium & the other is salt water life (also a butterfly room). The salt water one is my favorite. It takes about an hour & a half for each building so keep in mind it will take around three hours to visit both.
Just a few blocks away from the aquarium, this museum is also on the river, but on a bluff that has an amazing view & awesome exhibits! There is a free outdoor sculpture garden on the bluff as well. I highly recommend a coffee shop called Rembrandt’s Coffee House straight across from the museum.
Beautiful park on the TN River (no cost) directly across from the aquarium & Hunter Museum. There is a walking only bridge to connect them, so you can literally spend all day in this part of downtown & do so much. They have paddle board/kayak rentals, water jets out of the ground for kids to run through & even a carousel. Also, there are quite a few shops on the back side of the park - food, bars, boutiques, souvenirs.
I might be a little bias, but Easy Bistro is definitely my favorite place to wine & dine. I am so proud to work for a company that cares so much about hospitality & craft. In the heart of downtown Chattanooga, we have amazing food created by a 2x James Beard nominated chef - Erik Niel! We also have a killer wine & whiskey list, & an awesome staff to help you have the best dining experience. There are options for all dietary restrictions so if you plan on eating out, Easy is a must go!
