It all began in 2019, just outside a soccer dome where Andrew was about to play a match. A chance meeting turned into a conversation, and that conversation turned into something neither of us could have predicted — a love story built on shared passions, laughter, and a deep appreciation for life’s little joys. Early on, we discovered our mutual love for RBC Bluesfest, where music became the backdrop to many unforgettable summer nights. We bonded over our obsession with Survivor and Big Brother —and our shared loved of the Ottawa Senators — and our fierce competitiveness when it comes to playing cards. We’re opposites in the best way: Andrew is thoughtful, analytical, and athletic. Rita is the social butterfly, the kindest soul you’ll ever meet, with a heart so big she couldn’t hurt a fly. Together, we balance each other perfectly. Our journey has taken us across Europe, through the Rockies of Western Canada, and down into the U.S., collecting memories and meals along the way. As food lovers, we’ve shared everything from homemade paella to Chef Ramsay’s Beef Wellington — and yes, we both love snails and steak. Dating through a pandemic tested us early, but it only made our bond stronger. In 2021, we bought our first home together — a place filled with laughter, love, and way too many memories. We’ve been each other’s backbone through every high and low, and now, we’re so excited to take the next step — surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. We can’t wait to celebrate with you.
