We are getting married!

With knowledge of rising COVID-19 cases, we have decided to go ahead and have the wedding with a very limited number of guests and family. We are not having a reception this year. The reception is postponed to summer 2021. Everyone’s health is very important to us! Thank you for supporting us throughout this turbulent time. The guy was there right around the corner and sometimes the same classroom. Our official first date, we went bowling and tied on two seperate rounds.

No matter where we are, how much distance is between us, he always seems to make me laugh. He is the comedian that I never knew I needed. He is the King of being extreme in every moment. He always takes care of me when I need it most. He is an amazing cook and honestly my personal chef. He applauds me when I do something that makes me happy and is tolerant of my obsessions (i.e. dogs and plants).

My favorite things about Rachel are how good of a dog mom she is. How she always wants to help. How she is always trying to make me smile and also makes me write these things. Her smile makes my day better. Her hugs make me feel loved.

Dating long distance was the single most important thing that I have done in my entire life thus far. It has taught us that our relationship can take not seeing in person each other for over 400 days. My favorite memory from this was when he sent me flowers and GF pizza to my apartment hoping that I was home to receive them. What I love most is the letters. They are a treasure like no other. And when I flew home after such a long time away, I walked up to his door at 11:00 pm. I first glanced through the window to see him dressed up and just sitting on his couch staring mindlessly. He had no idea I was coming. He did not even know what day I was actually coming home. These moments are priceless.

Andrew bought the ring while I was still away in California. When I came back, within two weeks I found it right before we went on a vacation with his family. I immediately told him when we arrived at the lake. He told me that he was never going to give it to me because I ruined the surprise. Over 8 months later, we went to Gulf Shores, Alabama with his family and grandparents. He had brought a paint set and canvas to the beach because he wanted to paint while we were there. On the second day we were there, March 11th, 2019, he told me to put on the dress I bought but I really wanted to go to the beach with our dog, Hank. So, I went to the beach in my bikini. Completely sandy and wet, I turned around and he was walking over with something behind his back. He got on one knee with the painting. I was so glad the his mom and I went to the nail salon before we got to Alabama. He later said that he was going to wait until the end of the week but he was too nervous so he quickly finished the painting so he did not have to stress about it.

After being engaged for almost a year we decided that we were just going to do it and get married. We did not have any ideas what we were going to do. We have been planning and are so excited for August!
