We met online on the Christian dating app Upward. I had just recently been on a date with a guy who clearly wasn’t the one for me. I had gotten to the point where I was just going to let God send the right guy to me in His timing. The thought in my mind at that point was to just give up using the dating app. Nothing was really happening on it and I was getting discouraged. Something told me to go on the app one more time before deleting it. The night before Andrew was scrolling on TikTok and saw an ad for the dating app Upward. He decided to download the app and create a profile. That Sunday we matched each other but I didn’t really expect anything to come from it. Andrew made the first move and wrote me first asking if I wanted to talk and get to know each other. We spent about a week talking and forming a friendship before Andrew asked me for my number. We’ve been talking nonstop ever since!

Since we were long distance for most of our relationship our time to do dates was on the weekends. Those dates were usually pretty hectic trying to fit so many things in a short amount of time. On this specific weekend Andrew had planned a whole day that we would spend together and go to some of our favorite spots. We were driving to Portland headlight where we had our first date when Andrew got a notification from someone named Josh. That made me question what was going on. He had never mentioned having a friend named Josh before but I didn’t really think to much about it. We arrived at our favorite spot right by the lighthouse, where on our first date we spent hours talking and where we both felt like we wanted to pursue a relationship with each other. My mind is still somewhat of a blur but I remember Andrew getting down on one knee and asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. I quickly said YES and I heard surrounding people cheering and congratulating us. I shortly realized who the Josh was from earlier when I saw our friend, Josh Foglietta in the background taking pictures and capturing our special moment. It was something my sisters and Andrew planned for me so I could have pictures of my engagement as a keepsake. We quickly called our families and shared the exciting news with them all! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
