From Megan's Perspective: In the beginning of December, Andrew and I both started going on dating apps and happened upon an app called Cross Paths. As many love stories begin these days, we both swiped right on each other and happened to match! Andrew reached out to me first and we started to get to know each other. Eventually we gave each other our numbers and planned to meet in person at the King of Prussia Mall before Christmas. Unfortunately, Andrew got sick and we had to postpone our date. Recently, he told me how worried he was that I would think he was just trying to ditch me, but he really did want to meet. On December 26th we met at the food court in King of Prussia Mall and had a lovely date at Shake Shack and then walked around the mall. By the end of the date I knew that I was in trouble because I really liked this guy, but he was going back to school in Ohio. Both of us were skeptical that this relationship would work, but we kept in touch and eventually I went out to visit him at school. Then, when Andrew came home in July he finally asked me to be his girlfriend and our love story took off!
From Andrew's Perspective: Megan and I have been in love for a long time now and after our first year together, I knew I would want to marry Megan someday. At first, I thought we would have to wait 2-4 years before we would be financially ready to get married. Thankfully, I landed a job in the Army that accelerated this timeline. My time spent this past summer in basic training where Megan and I couldn't talk for 2 and a half months except for letters, really drew me closer to God and gave me time to think and pray about my relationship with Megan. It didn't take long before I knew I wanted to propose to Megan by the end of the year, something I knew she very much wanted to happen this year as well. In September I began searching for the perfect ring, using Megan's Pinterest for inspiration. The week before Thanksgiving I had found the perfect ring that I knew Megan would love. Around the same time I had began making plans for the proposal, getting ideas and help from her parents and my close friends. The only for sure plan I had was doing it on December 26th because it marked 2 years since my first date with Megan. In the end I decided on asking in Longwood Gardens after the suggestion from her parents. Megan was suspicious the entire day that the proposal was happening that night, but I eventually managed to convince her that it wasn't. Just as we were about to leave Longwood, we had one last stop by a nicely lit Christmas tree where I knew her parents would be hiding to take photos and videos. Megan was surprised when I turned to her and got down on one knee and finally asked Megan the question she had been waiting to hear for months, and she said YES!
