We met at a weekly crepe breakfast with a group of church friends, then began a tradition of cooking dinner together with our mutual friend, Diana. These dinners led to long conversations late into the night. When Libby needed to move house, Andrew conveniently took every opportunity to help her out, leading to more long conversations.
We spent a lot of our early time together talking about our experiences growing up in ministry families, cultural differences, and food. Andrew was smitten when Libby played Rachmaninoff on her piano, and he is eagerly looking forward to the second time she plays piano for him someday!
We started asking each other on a date at the same time, and we still disagree over who first said “I love you,” proving that it’s always been mutual.
We went to see Christopher Marley’s incredible Exquisite Creatures exhibit at Crystal Bridges, then watched Libby’s favorite movie, Marcel the Shell. Despite being sleepy from talking until 2 AM the night before, we had a great time and continue to date to this day.
We spend a lot of time cooking together, hunting for treasure at flea markets and thrift stores, eating at our favorite restaurants (Farmer’s Table for Libby, Thai E San for Andrew), and yakkin’. We are both heavily involved at our church and enjoy volunteering there.
It’s too long to write here, but it involves a one-hour stroll that became a five-hour hike, a surprise rainstorm, wildflowers, a lightning strike, a delicious octopus, a muddy cliffside, and a triple rainbow. Ok, that makes it sound more dramatic than it really was, but only a LITTLE.
We want our wedding to be a relaxed, comfortable place for our favorite people to chat, eat some hors d'oeuvres, and celebrate the joining of our families!
The more “ordinary life” stuff we do together, the more we’re looking forward to being married. We’re a good team! Creating a home together and starting a family is becoming more and more exciting the closer we get to it!
