Cape Ann Museum: So Salty Festival!
The Cape Ann Museum, home to one of the oldest art communities in the nation, features an impressive collection, including the largest grouping of works by renowned marine artist Fitz Henry Lane. During the wedding weekend, the museum will host the annual Gloucester’s So Salty Festival on January 25 and 26, 2025, beginning at 10:00 am. This FREE, public event celebrates Gloucester’s maritime heritage with ice sculptures, live music, salty treats, and more. Tip: We recommend visiting earlier in the day if you plan to attend, to allow plenty of time to be wedding-ready around 3:00 pm, as the ceremony begins promptly at 3:30 pm. Fun Fact: The bride and groom always visit a local museum when traveling to a new place.
Cape Ann Lanes & Laneside Brewery
A local spot for candlepin bowling and arcade games. The Brewery serves their own craft beer, wine, seltzer & cider all within a cozy atmosphere. Fun Fact: In middle school, Kelton scored a perfect 300 on Wii Bowling after several hours one weekend spent do absolutely nothing but becoming a Wii champion.
Salem: The Historic Witch City
Several of Salem’s famous museums and attractions are open all year long. A winter visit will give you the opportunity to experience some of Salem’s favorite attractions without crowds. The Salem Witch Museum, The House of The Seven Gables, the Peabody Essex Museum, Salem Witch Village and Salem Wax Museum are all open during the winter months. Salem is located an easy 30 mins south of the Beauport Hotel. Fun Fact: Andy once entered a spicy drink challenge at Salem's Rockafella's restaurant. He won a free t-shirt and neck hives that day.
