Unlike many love stories, Andrew nor Kelsi could give you a specific date when they met or a moment where they realized, “This is the one.” Though tossed about with confusion, heartache and loss, their story is one filled with healing, restoration, and a multitude of answered prayers. At some point when they were both young children, Andrew’s family found an open and inviting place at Kelsi’s Grandma Marie’s home. They spent many Sunday dinners and holidays together, which resulted in an abundance of hilarious memories between Andrew and Kelsi. Though they played and fought like siblings, Kelsi secretly had the biggest crush on Andrew. Throughout the years, she filled journals with confessions of adoration for this boy who was supposed to be just a “brother.” As teenagers, life was a crazy, tumultuous ride for both of them. As a result, their paths did not cross again for nearly six years. However, Kelsi never could quite get the memories of “secret” crush out of her mind. Dear friends and mentors taught her to take it to the Lord in prayer. Journal entries turned into heartfelt prayers for a young man who, though not far in physical distance, seemed so far from the place he once called home. One Sunday afternoon, after nearly six years of waiting, hoping and praying… Andrew came home. Since that joyful homecoming, Andrew and Kelsi have gone through many days of waiting and wondering. Deep down, they knew there was no one else – they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Now, they are grateful beyond words that they took heed to wise counsel, and that they waited on Him. As they courted and learned how to have a relationship built upon trust and respect for one another, they felt the peace and assurance from their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He has helped them overcome so many things that this world would have thought impossible. They are so excited to have a home together, built on a foundation of Truth and a love for God and His kingdom.
