Parking in Cape May can be troublesome. There is lovely, free shuttle (handicap accessible) that runs a loop of the main town in the evening from 4-10pm. It comes by every ~20min and there's an app to watch location.

Cape May beaches require a beach tag to access. Tags cost $8pp/day ($15/3-day; $20/week.) Between 10am-5pm, they will come around and check tags / have someone at entrance collecting. We like to go to Poverty Beach, which is a little away from the main downtown. Entrance is at Wilmington Ave and New Jersey Ave. There is plenty of free street parking down New Jersey Ave.

Cape May is a beach town aka restaurants are overpriced. Grocery store in town has frustrating parking, so we often bring groceries with us. Here are a couple restaurants around town that we've enjoyed: Taco Caballito Tequileria - 429 Beach Ave, Cape May, NJ 08204 - https://www.tacocaballitotequileria.com/menus-cape-may/ Willow Creek Winery - 168 Stevens St, West Cape May, NJ 08204 - https://willowcreekwinerycapemay.com/ MudHen Brewing Company - 127 W Rio Grande Ave, Wildwood, NJ 08260 (Technically in Wildwood (one beach up), but fun place) - https://www.mudhenbrew.com/

We love the Washington Street Mall (downtown) for cute shops. Highly recommend using Jitney shuttle so you don't have to find parking. Our favorite ice cream shop is Fine Fellows Creamery a few blocks up from the mall on Beach Ave. (313 Beach Ave, Cape May, NJ 08204)
