Wedding Party

Kasia and Andrew initially met on Tinder. The year was 2017 and Andrew was cleaning his car in preperation for a date. He was wholly surprised that she wanted him to pick her up. Andrew had asked if she wanted him to bring his dog. She said no, so naturally Andrew brought Rowan along anyway. After discussing with Hunter and prepping with some liquid courage, Andrew braved his way to the capital apartments. Kasia walked out and his first thought was "Oh no! Is she taller than me?" She gets in and Andrew decides the best method for avoiding awkward silence is to just speak continually and ask a lot questions. Thus the interview began on the short drive to the local dive bar that Andrew found appropriate for a first date. Kasia liked Rowan (and apparently Andrew too). After a great conversation over a few gin and tonics, Kasia left Andrew with some advice for his upcoming Eurotrip. They stayed in contact wile both traveling and continued dating upon their return. The rest is history.

Katarzyna

Bride

Andrew

Groom

Joanna

Maid of Honor

Joanna and I moved to the USA the same year as part of the Fulbright scholarship. My go-to confidant. She is the most thoughtful, independent and caring person I know. Funny enough, recently we both went to Poland (we live in different cities) and happened to run at each other in a random city at the random mall at the random time at the random store. She has been my strongest female supporter in the whole USA and most of Poland. My sister from another mister, who thinks like me and kinda looks like me, and I am sure she will be in my life forever (and Andrew's too). Luckily, they get along just fine. She saved my life literally and figuratively many times. I can only hope to be as supportive a person as she.

Gian

Best Man

We met in high school as polar opposites and immediately connected. Back then all we did was cause trouble and if you thought something might have changed, you'd be wrong. Historically, most of our time spent together was in efforts to meet new people of the opposite sex. We have since migrated that time to motorcycles and casual hangs.

Melanie

Bridesmaid

Honestly, I have no idea where and when Melanie and I met, but I am more than sure it involved tequila. Though we haven't known each other since we were kids, it sure feels like we grew up a bit together. Melanie has supported me through thick and thin. Though she wasn't always the hero I wanted, she was the hero I needed and I'm proud to have such a strong woman as my friend.

Chris

Groomsman

Chris and I met as young little catholic school boys while going through confirmation classes. We reconnected a few years later through mutual friends and our sense of adventure brought us together. We shared many experiences, several of which left us starving, dehydrated and/or utterly lost. Luckily both our navigational skills and a general understanding of the need for planning have improved significantly over the years.

Justyna

Bridesmaid

I believe I met Justyna at her natural habitat (pool) in ~ 2017. She moved here, as part of the same scholarschip program (and the same apartment complex). We realized we have the same taste in wine and opposite in men and promptly became friends. Justyna also served proudly as translator, successfully translating for Andrew to Kasia's parents when he asked for their permission to marry their daughter. Their response, "We don't care, ask her."

Ashton

Groomsman

Ashton and I shared bathroom at OCU, as such we were suite-mates. However, Ashton did not realize this until we had been sharing a bathroom for about 6 months, despite knowing each other within a month of living on campus. Countless nights were spent huddled in our dorms with our newfound group of friends, laughing around a jug of Carlo Rossi. Though we are still close, Ashton now lives in California.

Aleksandra

Bridesmaid

Aleksandra (Ola) is also a Polish scientist working at OMRF. She moved to the USA in 2017, but I didn't connect with her until we were both looking for a roommate. We rented an apartment together. We didn't really know each other at the time, but our mutual friend (also living at the same Complex) was throwing a party. Wanting to be a perfect roommate I decided to bake some treats and bring to the party. While showering I left the oven unattended and, unexpectedly, the fire alarms were triggered in the WHOLE Apartment Complex. I explained myself only to the firefighters that arrived on scene. Following this tragic disruption, Ola and I proceeded to the party. While this was the story of the night, to this day Ola has never mentioned what triggered the fire alarm=ME. She is an absolute sweetheart and the kindest person I know. And I know my secrets are safe with her!

Ty

Groomsman

Ty and I connected through our love of the outdoors and rock climbing. We once tried our hand in baking and accidentally made cookies that, while climbing, we discovered would put us to sleep for about a week. Ever since then, he has been my go-to adventure buddy. He is the designated first mate of any boat I captain, as we make a relatively functional team... most of the time. All jokes aside we successfully chartered the largest boat I have ever captained with no catastrophic mishaps while cruising the open ocean and I couldn't have done it without him.

Jakub

Bridesman

Jakub (Kuba) and I met in 2016, a week after I arrived in USA. He was also a scientist and part of the same scholarship program. Kuba was one of my first close friends here and we often had dinner or threw small get togethers at the apartment complex. I introduced him to Andrew shortly after we started dating and their common love for yoga, climbing, and other outdoorsy activities also turned them into friends pretty quickly. Kuba moved to Boston to continue his education there and despite the distance, we are still strongly bonded.

Ian

Groomsman

You know, I don't recall when Ian and I met, but I am pretty sure I found him living on my couch in 2012. My original travel partner. We have been everywhere from Japan to Puerto Rico together and were excited to finally get to bring along significant others when we each met our partners. I've never laughed harder than when on vacation with Ian. It was always an incredibly humorous disaster and I wouldn't have it any other way. For the longest time Ian's sister assumed that we were dating and caught me off guard when she asked when we were getting married. Luckily for both of us, Ian found Zac and I found Kasia. Ian now has his own couch.

Kylie

Bridesmaid

Kylie is a Best Man's girlfriend and needless to say, we have been on countless double dates. In fact, I'm not even sure that we liked each other at first, but our admiration quickly developed as we got to know each other through the Motley Crue that is our significant others. I know that I can always count on Kylie to be there for me when I need it.

Dylan

Groomsman

I met Dylan in the Bishop McGuiness wrestling program as a sophomore in highschool when we both weighed less than a 100 pounds. He kicked my ass everyday until about the end of junior year when I finally outweighed him by at least 25 pounds. Dylan has put up with my shenanigans about as long as anyone else that I know and at this point he doesn't have a choice as I still outweigh him.

Hunter

Officiant

Hunter has graced us with his presence since the day he moved into the apartment above Andrew circa 2017. Andrew and Hunter hit it off and quickly created a new circle of friends. Hunter is responsible for naming Mr. Rowan and giving Andrew copious amounts of mediocre advice during his courtship of Kasia. Hunter and Andrew frequently spent time at each other's apartments over a bottle of wine or two until Hunter officially met Kasia. Hunter and Kasia remain friends till this day.
