Neither Karley nor Andrew can exactly remember the moment the two met but what they know for sure is they met through Lakemount Young Adults in the fall of 2018. But the first conversation was either after the Monday services one evening, at Boston Pizza following young adults or at the Bjorkman 2018 Young Adult Christmas Party (this has been documented by LYA on their Instagram if you feel so inclined to look back that far!)

In July of 2020 Andrew decided one day to ask Karley for lunch one Saturday afternoon. The two planned to meet at the Kilt and Clover in Port Dalhousie. First, the plan was to meet for 12:00pm (lunch time) but Andrew ended up working that morning so then he pushed it to 12:30pm... then 1:00pm... then 1:30pm... then finally 2:00pm! Although he kept pushing it, Andrew was determined to go on this date, even when Karley offered to reschedule for another day. And good thing because look where that first date led to! The two will admit they were both immensely nervous for that first date but knew afterwards there was something more to explore!

Andrew's first proposal was planned for their first year anniversary in Toronto, however the ring was not going to be ready by then... Andrew even asked the jeweller if he could rent one in the meantime. The second planned proposal was another big flop as Andrew planned to propose on a camping trip the two were going to take, however Karley became quite sick right before the trip and had to miss it. But it finally happened in a beautiful little town called, Unionville under the twinkling Christmas lights.
