Andrew and I met in first grade at Kettler Elementary. According to Andrew, I was too cool to hang with him or pick him as my partner for the 5th grade dance. However, we will just agree to disagree. What started out as a playground friendship was destined to be more, a forever friendship. Unfortunately, towards the end of middle school, Andrew moved away. While our friendship might have ended there, it was luckily just put on hold. About seven years later, I received a message from Andrew asking if I remembered him. My response was easy, "Of course I remember you. Who could forget such a last name?!" Little did I know that his memorable last name would one day become mine. Having known each other for almost twenty years, we have changed and grown a lot over time, but we will always and forever be Ketller Cougars together.
Like many times before, Andrew and I decided to take a day trip to Yosemite National Park and explore our favorite place with the pups. It was Archer and Abbie's first time and our goal was to go play in the snow. Little did I know that Andrew had a much more important goal in mind! We decided to hike out to the beautiful Mirror Lake to have a picnic, and the entire way Andrew was stressing to make sure I didn't find the ring in his right jacket pocket. Once we found the perfect little cove, we tied the pups against a tree and I started to unpack. As I was about to sit down, there was Andrew on one knee ready to ask me the most important question. Before I could say yes, we realized our new puppy Abbie was an unbelievable escape artist; she had shimmied her way out of her harness. Even though it was a hectic moment getting Abbie back on her leash, it was the perfect comical way to begin our little family. Andrew and I are so excited to begin this next chapter and become adventure partners for life. We cannot wait to celebrate with everyone next June, when we say I DO!
