We've known each other since middle school, and became close friends in college. A few months before Kailey moved to Boise, Idaho for nursing school, Andrew made the first move- by telling Kailey he had feelings for her. We decided we didn't want to start a relationship long distance, and agreed to stay "just friends". That... only lasted about 6 months. March 19th, 2022, we had our first official date over Kailey's school spring break. Andrew surprised Kailey with dinner at Press in St. Helena (Kailey still says this is the best meal she has ever had), and evening coffee in an little shop we used to go to as friends. The next two and a half years, we dated long distance. After lots of facetime dinner dates, weekend flights, and crazy long text threads, we finally got our long-awaited in-person relationship! Kailey moved to Southern Californa in August 2024, where we now enjoy trying new coffee shops, exploring Los Angeles, and just sharing the same zip code. We've both had a lot of change in our lives over the last year, and have been so grateful to be able to support and love each other through this season of our lives. On June 22nd, 2025, Andrew asked Kailey to marry him. Kailey's family was in town visiting for the week, and they had spent an unsuspecting morning going to church and relaxing. Andrew arranged for a beautiful setup of white and orange roses (the same flowers he got her on their first date) on laguna beach. Andrew planned it all so well, that Kailey didn't believe the proposal was for her until he was already down on one knee. She was definitely surprised- as evidenced by her stylish outfit of cargo pants and a bedazzled racecar T-Shirt. After she said yes, all of our friends ran out to surprise us. Shortly after, we all went together to dinner overlooking the ocean, popping bubbly and sharing laughs until late into the night. We are so, so excited for the next chapter of our love story to unfold. It has been a beautiful journey so far, and marriage is the next step we can't wait to take together.
