Renting a car is not necessary if you're sticking to the cities or areas accessible by train. But, if you're looking to get up to the Highlands or do some hillwalking, it can be a great idea. Renting a car is easy, but remember a couple of things. Manual transmission is the norm unless you opt for an automatic. Oh, and don't forget, we drive on the left! Keep left, stay in your lane, and enjoy the journey. Just a heads up, turning left on red is a no-go here. So buckle up, follow the rules, and have a fantastic time exploring Scotland by car!
Discover Glasgow's charm and get your bearings with the Hop-On Hop-Off Glasgow Bus Tour (£16). Explore at your own pace, immersing yourself in the city's rich history and iconic landmarks. Uncover hidden gems, from Victorian architecture to vibrant neighbourhoods. To note: The bus also leaves from right by the hotel with the block booking.
Check out one of Glasgow's cutest streets filled with great pubs & restaurants. Our favourite places here: - Ubiquitous Chip - fantastic pub and restaurant! Head up the stairs on the right to grab a pint, enjoy the atmosphere and sneak up to the roof terrace if it's a nice day. - Innis & Gunn - another great pub that does good food at the other end of Ashton Lane.
One of Glasgow's trendiest neighbourhoods filled with great places to eat, drink and socialise! Our favourite places here: - The Ben Nevis - A great whisky part with a Malt of the Month for great value! Always busy but super welcoming. - The Gannet - This is where we had our engagement dinner. Phenomenal food but on the pricey side. - The Park Bar - A Glasgow institution. No frills pub with live music and a ceilidh some nights.
