With some wine induced encouragement, Jillian reached out to Andrew on an online dating app called Match in February 2020. His mustache and broad shoulders caught her attention. Andrew alike was drawn in by Jillian's photos, a short red dress in particular. Unfortunately, the timing of their message exchanges came during the peak of the pandemic when all restaurants were closed. After a couple months of messaging and hours spent on the phone until the wee morning hours, they finally pulled the trigger to meet in person. Their first date was at Hinckley Lake on April 18- they enjoyed walking the trails and nature's views but more importantly one another's company. One park date, turned into another. And park dates turned into homemade dinner dates, the rest is history.
It was a working Thursday for Jillian and unlike most days, she had a particularly late day at work. Andrew was impatiently waiting at home and even called to see where she was (very unusual). When she came home, she discovered Andrew sitting in the living room in complete darkness. Her being used to his weird antics, shrugged it off. She made her way upstairs to change out of her dirty and hideous, lime green work scrubs. Andrew sprinted up the stairs and sat on the bed with his right hand under the blanket. She knew in that moment what was about to happen. When he pulled that small black box out, she was instantly filled with joy and excitement. She of course said yes to spending the rest of her life with him. Andrew said he couldn't hold onto the ring a moment longer- which turns out was only about 4 hours. They are both incredibly grateful and blessed to have one another, and look forward to forever together.
