Steamship Authority Ferry - Woods Hole

The steamship authority from Woods Hole is the most common option for getting to the Vineyard. If you are planning to stay for more than the weekend it may be worth it to consider bringing your car over on the boat. Car reservations are required and become available January 2022 for October 2022. If you are considering this option, we recommend booking as soon as the reservations open up as our wedding is at the tail end of the busy season! If you choose not to bring a car you will park in the assigned Steamship Authority lots located in Falmouth (see Steamship Authority website for details), take a quick bus to the ferry terminal and board on the ferry by foot. We would recommend you arrive at the parking lot 30 minutes before the schedule ferry you would like to take.

Flight

Martha's Vineyard Airport (MVY)

There are limited options when flying to the Vineyard. Both JetBlue and Cape Air offer flights to/from the Vineyard and Boston. Another option would be flying to Boston Logan Airport and then taking the Peter Pan Bus which would pick you at Logan Airport and then drops you off right at the Steamship Authority ferry in Woods Hole. Getting Around MV

For those of you who have not yet been to MV, it is bigger than you think. If you choose not to bring your car over, don't worry there are plenty of ways to get around. There is a public bus, taxi, rental cars, and Uber/Lyft. We 10 rooms reserved here! Just mention you are booking with the "McHugh/Polio Wedding" to utilize the room block and preferred pricing. Rooms blocks will be held until July 30th, 2022. It is about a 10 min walk from the Edgar Hotel to St. Elizabeth's Church located in downtown Edgartown. There will be a shuttle service from downtown Edgartown to the reception and then a return shuttle service back to the hotel after the reception is over.
