The venue is only an hour (one way) from Tahoe! Make an all day trip out of it. Enjoy the town, grab a bite, to eat, and dip your toes in the water.
If you enjoy small towns with mom and pop shops Downtown Placerville is a great place to visit. Grab a bite to eat at one of the restaraunts, or a cup of coffee from one of the coffee shops. Visit early though, shops tend to close around 5 pm.
Visit the historical side of Sacramento. There are shops, museums, and cobble stone roads.
I sure love my old towns! Lot's of cute shops and great food! Only minutes from the 50.

Can't go wrong with an apple donut and crafts! Visit Apple hill; it's family friendly, has great apple cider, and I mean donuts, who couldn't love that? Visit the numerous farms just minutes away from our wedding venue! Go early in the morning though, parking can be a real headache!
