We met on Hinge! Yes, yes.. we were a Hinge success story. However, still unique to us and I wouldn't have it any other way. I was on Hinge for about 2ish months. I had redownloaded it wanting to get to know some new people. While I went on some dudd dates, I was still hopeful. That's the key at least, right? Well, I saw Andrew's profile and it said "Andrew Casey" along with some pictures of him that caught my eye. My initial reaction was "wow, this guy is cuuuuuute, I'm gonna like him, shoot my shot, but probably won't hear back..". A few hours later I get a response... FROM HIM! I was soooo ecstatic because not only did he reply, but there was substance to his response! Not just a casual "sup" or some cheesy pick up line. It made me feel like a giddy school girl because it seemed like he was genuinely interested. Little did I know that on his side, he had only downloaded the app less than 24 hours prior. I responded to him and we ended up chatting nonstop for like a week straight. At that point we had plans for our first date on October 1st, 2023, a Sunday. We really enjoyed talking to each other and even spent some time on the phone. The more we talked, the more we were just so antsy to meet and see each other face to face. So, on the Thursday evening before our first date I spontaneously asked him "What time do you usually leave for work?" and he had told me something around 7am.. I asked him.. "would you want to stop by my house before you go to work to say hi?". I was NERVOUS because I didn't know if he'd be down to drive 10 minutes out of the way especially since we hadn't met in person, but he agreed! We were both so excited and I could barely sleep that Thursday night knowing that I was literally about to see him as soon as I woke up. The next morning I got up and changed out of my sleep shirt into slightly cuter lounge wear (haha work from home life, am i right) and I heard him pull up, so I went downstairs, opened the door and before we could fully greet each other, he kissed me! We both couldn't stop smiling, everything felt so surreal because of our connection we had via text. It translated perfectly in person and everything else is history <3
